This work was inspired by a book on Soviet heroic mythology entitled: “The Story of the Real Man”, an obligatory text from the artist's childhood. This work is part of a series of portraits of Heroes with Animals. The obvious image and complete lack of narrative leaves the observer in a void, projecting personal experience on the image of the hero, questioning motives, outcomes, and the hero image as role-model.
